2009 Mendoza Winter Open

The 2009 version of the postseason Mendoza Winter Open Tournament should be a highly competitive affair.  Eight teams from six different Mendoza leagues each coming off a 90+ win season will battle it out for ultimate supremacy using Diamond Mind Baseball.  Join us here for schedules, results and weekly recaps as we follow the road to the MWO Championship Series.

Championship Series Begins

Royale with Cheese will meet the Budd Bay Buffleheads in the Championship Series.  The database is available for download.

Regular Season Complete - Playoff Database Available

The regular season is complete and the playoff database is now available for download.  I'm not going to set a specific date for the results to be returned.  Just get them to me once you finish the series.  Margo Adams Fan Club, the Budd Bay Buffleheads and Money Ball are joined by Royale with Cheese who won a tie breaker over the East Dayton Hilljacks by taking two out of three in their head-to-head season ending series.  Good luck to all four playoff teams and thanks for playing another MWO season to everyone.

Series 7 Database Available (Final Regular Season Series)

The Series 7 database is now available for download.  The results are due by Sunday night March 29th and five teams are still alive in the playoff chase.  Margo Adams Fan Club and the Budd Bay Buffleheads have clinched playoff spots while the East Dayton Hilljacks will battle it out head to head with Royale with Cheese for a third spot.  One more win can clinch the fourth spot for Money Ball, but if they were to get swept in the final series a three way tie for the final two spots is still mathematically possible.  All five teams are also still playing for seeding to determine who gets home field advantage.

Series 6 Database Available

The Series 6 database is now available for download.  The results are due by Sunday night March 22nd.  With only two more series remaining to play, most everything is still up for grabs.  It should be an exciting finish.

Series 5 Database Available

The Series 5 database is now available for download.  The results are due by Sunday night March 15th.

Series 4 Database Available

The Series 4 database is now available for download.  The results are due by Sunday night March 8th.

I also want to clarify the rule on substitutions.  You are allowed to make substitions between each series.  If the player you are removing is injured, he can be added back to the active roster after missing one series.  If the player you are removing is not injured, he must sit out a minimum of two series before being reactivated to prevent the possibility of rotating starters in and out to create additional roster space.  There is one exception to this rule however.  A non-injured player can be reactived after a single series if he is replacing a player who was injured during that series that he missed.

Series 2 Database Available

The Series 1 results have all been turned in and the database for Series 2 is now available for download under the Weekly Database Updates link in the sidebar.  Let's just say these results are due by Sunday night the 22nd and then get on our weekly schedule from there.
